A big life change can feel like a loss. Have you been through the end of a relationship? Or a succession of endings? Have you experienced a major change in finances? Do you have ongoing challenges to your health? Are there long stretches of your childhood that you can’t remember? These are indications that grief acceptance would benefit you.
Grieving is a natural reaction to loss. But it should come to a resolution at some stage. Sometimes people don’t know how to move forward. They stay stuck in the grief for far too long. Whereas grief is a natural part of loss, unresolved grief holds you back.
If you have been through a big change it’s normal to find it hard to concentrate, have difficulty sleeping or getting up in the morning. You might find yourself eating constantly or have no appetite at all. Your emotions might swing from one extreme to another.
You need time to go through this. You might also need some help.
